With a global pandemic creating an uncertain backdrop to its reopening after a £30million redevelopment, our team had to generate widespread awareness and website views while navigating ever-changing comms messaging, stakeholder engagement requirements, and media requests.
Approach
With just a month’s notice and Covid restrictions in place, we built a remote launch strategy focused on families eager for days out post-lockdown. Without the ability to host journalists on-site, we provided top-tier visuals, press materials and drip-fed engaging stories to maintain momentum.
We also worked closely with stakeholders to meet all contractual communication obligations and built strong media relationships to secure national interest.
Results
We secured 298 pieces of coverage across print, online and broadcast, with a reach of over 89 million. Highlights included Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio Nottingham’s longest-ever live broadcast.
Website traffic surged, with 69,000 page views and 19,000 new users linked to the announcement. One third of media coverage included a backlink.
