Background

Jones Bar Group opened its sixth Roxy Ball Room in Nottingham – its first Midlands venture – tasking us with managing a VIP opening event, as well as providing overall positive comms in the build up to the launch.

Approach

Through a targeted media relations and social media plan covering the three months up to the launch, we built up plenty of buzz around this popular games-based bar opening – and then managed two launch events for VIPs and the public.   

In the run up, we engaged with key influencers and journalists – and organised a number of ‘office takeovers’ in local businesses to drum up awareness for the lunch event.

We planned and produced 10 bespoke promotional videos, such as time lapses and interviews with the graffiti artist who worked on the iconic interior - this included references to Nottingham references such as the Boots logo.

Results

Our stellar social media plan saw high levels of engagement and a 152% increase in Facebook page likes. The launch video was viewed more than 3,000 times across social channels and 26 pieces of media coverage were secured.   

The VIP launch was attended by more than 200 people, including Olympic table tennis player Kelly Sibley – the success of these two events saw the VIP room booked up every Friday for the rest of that year.
