Building control and fire safety regulator, Salus, needed a less resource-intensive way to deliver CPD webinars. Our webisode format with pre-recorded content and live Q&A produced a cost-effective, successful solution.

Background
Salus Approved Inspectors is a building control and fire safety regulator working with consultants throughout the built environment. As a regulator, it is required to deliver technical CPD (continuing professional development) sessions to its clients to keep them informed of any changes to building regulatory and compliance requirements. This was incredibly resource-intensive to deliver, requiring the Salus team to travel across the UK.
Approach
We worked with Salus to develop a streamlined approach to delivering its CPD sessions, using our CC Live webisode format to bring the detailed technical content to life with a combination of smoothly edited pre-recorded presentations and a live Q&A session, hosted by our trained broadcasters.
Results
Since the first webinar in 2020, we have hosted eight further sessions, covering six technical topics around changes to building and fire safety regulations, attracting more than 5,000 viewers. A further 900 people signed up to November’s session on the updates to building regulations Part B. Considering the cost of travel and time out of the office for senior team members, running the online sessions has saved Salus more than £50,000 over two years.
Let’s be frank - listening to a pre-recorded webinar of technical content on its own is dull and uninteresting, but the ingenuity of the Cartwright team’s presentation brings the topics to life. Our partnership has been incredibly well received, and I cannot praise the team highly enough - I have never seen anything to remotely compare with this initiative they have developed.
